We shouted out, who killed the Kennedys

Why do people still believe in conspiracy theories about the Kennedys?
Jack Kennedy was a valiant anti-communist warrior. He tried to overthrow Castro's Stalinist dictatorship in Cuba with the Bay of Pigs, established the blockade, stared down the USSR in the Cuban Missile Crisis, sent the USA into Vietnam to counter Soviet expansion, and his domestic policy revolved around civil rights. Because he worked for civil rights he could be forgiven his failings such as ordering FBI wiretaps of Martin Luther King. Lee Harvey Oswald was a loser, a scrawny former Marine sharpshooter and Marxist true-believer who defected to the USSR and returned a couple of years later to the USA with his Russian bride. He had spent time in orphanages as a child and had never known his father. Oswald was a victim and a communist. Victims are not guilty, especially not Marxist ones. It was impossible for the socialist left, indoctrinated in Marxist and Stalinist principles at college, to believe that a Marxist like Lee Harvey Oswald could have killed their hero Jack Kennedy. Never mind that a communist would be exactly the kind of person who would want to kill a fierce anti-communist like Jack Kennedy.
It couldn't be so. It wasn't politically correct.
Then in 1968, a Palestinian Jihadist named Sirhan Sirhan came to the US to exact revenge for the Israeli victory in 1967. He killed Bobby Kennedy with a .22 caliber pistol to the head. The 1967 Third Israeli War was one of those proxy wars that the USSR fought against democracy, using its proxy in Syria against democratic Israel. The USA did not intervene in the war, though Arabs, unable to admit that all their proud armies had been defeated swiftly and decisively by a small army of Jews, lied then and have lied ever since that the USA and UK did engage in combat on Israel's behalf. As this was a battle in the Cold War, the Marxist left took sides against the USA and Israel, and on the side of the Palestinians and the Syrian and Egyptian dictatorships. And they led the Democratic Party with them.
Once again, a victim had been accused of killing a Kennedy. It could not be so. It was not politically correct.
In 1968 the Democratic Convention was a zoo. The campaign that year was doomed for Democrats. Their candidate, Hubert Humphrey, was too damaged by the spectacle at the Convention and by media-led revulsion at the Democratic party's war in Vietnam. Nixon won. Four years later in 1972 the Democratic party had been transformed into the hippie Marxist left, drug-addled rainbow-colored peacenik, activist lawyer party, plus blacks loyal to the Kennedys' civil rights record. The political correctness meme penetrated deep into the Democratic Party's soul. It prevents them from seeing the world as it is. The politically correct world as it should be is vastly more palatable to them.
And the PC meme is still there. That is why democrats are so susceptible to conspiracy theories about the Kennedys, lunar landings, 9-11, Bush, Rove, Cheney, and UFOs. Ideology trumps fact. It's a source of power to them, and a source of danger to us all.
Update: See and compare this post to the one at my wordpress blog. I finished writing the version at wordpress and pushed the submit button, only to told that the submittal had failed and the post had been lost in the ether. I got a drink of water and rewrote it from memory. The rewritten version is here on the Fish Taco Stand. The original is at the main site on WordPress. I think they both stand up pretty well.
